PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a digital signal to be used as a part of data management and a communication system, by generating a signal from a microphone according to a user's speech of a kitchen appliance, and forming the digital signal from the microphone signal. SOLUTION: A data input means 30 for inputting data for identifying food during cooking is installed at a front part of a microwave oven 10. The means 30 is formed with a microphone at a part of a speech input unit and used for inputting data to identify the food to be treated in the oven 1 together with a speech recognition software loaded to a data processor 12 of the oven 10. The software allows the processor 12 to draw a digital signal from a signal from the microphone. The speech input unit generates an electronic mail message to be transferred to an internet through the same connection as that of an item identification data.
