SOLUTION: In this apparatus, a receiving coil 19 is mounted on a part of a subject P arranged in a magnetostatic field to apply a high frequency magnetic field and an inclined magnetic field and a magnetic resonance signal generated from the subject is received by the receiving coil to obtain an image of the subject. In this case, a topboard 6 can move the subject arranged in the magnetostatic field horizontally in a horizontal plane and vertically vertical to the horizontal plane and a bed controller 16 is made to move the topboard so that the part of the subject coincides with the centers O of the magnetostatic field and the inclined magnetic field based on the position of the part of the subject obtained from the image of the subject.
