PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner equipped with a stretchable extension pipe with good reliability and durability. SOLUTION: An extension pipe is equipped with an external pipe 105 for which a terminal is provided an internal pipe 107 which slides in the external pipe 105 and has another terminal, a conductive material 106 which electrically connects the terminal and another terminal, a protective internal pipe 108 which protects the conductive material 106 and slides in the external pipe 105 together with the internal pipe 107, a housing portion 111 which is arranged at one side portion of the external pipe 105 and houses at least one portion of the conductive material 106, and a member 114 which is equipped with a curved portion 114a having an approx. arc-shaped cross section, on the end portion. Then, the curved portion 114a of the member 114 is arranged inside of a bent portion 112 which is provided in the middle of the conductive material 106, and the durability and reliability of the conductive material 106 can be improved by always stabilizing the degree of curvature of the bent portion 112.
