PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce flashback occurrences within a central region in a dilute premixing combustion assembly having a plurality of fuel nozzles arranged in a circumferential direction. SOLUTION: A combustor assembly has a plurality of fuel nozzles 50 arranged in a circumferential direction and having a first end 64 coupled to a combustion chamber and a second end 60 attached to an endcover 62. The plurality of the nozzles 50 defines a central region 52 therebetween. A baffle 100 is disposed within the central region 52. The baffle 100 has an upstream base portion adjacent the endcover 62 and a contoured downstream portion having a width that is smaller with respect to a width of the upstream base portion to transit a recirculating flow into a downstream flow 70 to minimize flashback occurrences within the central region 52.
