PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a work for digging the soil of an upland field, when root vegetables such as Arctium lappa are cultivated. SOLUTION: This method for cultivating Arctium lappa, or the like, comprises attaching display members 3 to one end of a corrugated sheet 2, exposing the display portions 3p from the surface of soil, lowering the other end side of the corrugated sheet 2 at an inclination angle of about 10-30 deg. to bury the corrugated sheet 2 in the soil of the upland field, using the every other grooves M of the corrugated sheet at grooves Ma for growing the straight roots of the Arctium lappa, covering the every other grooves M with soil dressing such as red clay, using the remaining intermediate grooves M as grooves Mb for supplying a fertilizer, or the like, charging an organic fertilizer, or the like, into the grooves Mb, covering the charged organic fertilizer, or the like, with soil, sowing the seeds of the root vegetable, while using the display portions 3p as standards, and subsequently growing the straight roots along the straight root-growing grooves Ma. Thus, the Arctium lappa, or the like, having excellent shapes and qualities can be cultivated.
