PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the slackening of a roll paper generated when an opening and closing lid is closed in a printer for roll paper equipped with a platen roller moved along with the opening and closing lid of a roll paper loading part. SOLUTION: In the roll paper loading mechanism of an ink jet printer, when the opening and closing lid of a roll paper loading part 22 is closed and a lock lever 280 is locked, a lock state is detected by a photointerruptor 288. When the lock state is continued, a drive control apparatus 39 drives a drive motor M through a motor driver 38 to rotate a platen roller 26 over several lines in a feed direction. As a result, the slackening of roll paper generated when the follower gear of the platen roller is meshed with the drive gear on the side of a frame 21 when the opening and closing lid is closed to slightly rotate can be removed. By this constitution, the problem such as printing inferiority or the generation of jamming caused by this slackening can be certainly avoided. |
