PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. excellent in tracking resistance, strengths, stiffness, impact resistance, etc., by compounding a thermoplastic polyester resin with a compressed fine talc powder and a brominated PS, each in a specified amt. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester resin, pref. polybutylene terephthalate, is compounded with 5-100 pts.wt. compressed fine talc powder pref. having an apparent specific gravity of 0.4-1.5 and/or an average particle size of 150-800μm and 3-60 pts.wt. brominated PS. If necessary, 1-30 pts.wt. flame retardant (e.g. antimony trioxide) and/or 1-100 pts.wt. fibrous reinforcement (e.g. glass fibers) pref. having an average fiber diameter of 1-100μm and an average fiber length of 0.1-20 mm and/or 1-100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin (e.g. a modified polyolefin resin prepd. by the graft polymn. of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate onto PP) is further compounded. |
