PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve halftone expression by generating second image data defining with a large number of gradations than a predetermined number of gradations based on first image data, processing the second image data to halftones and generating print data. SOLUTION: Image data are defined with a gradation value of each of color components R(red), G(green) and B(black). The image data is input as a first image data to a CPU. The CPU generates a second image data defining with a larger number of gradations than a predetermined number of gradations on the basis of the first image data. In order words, in order to change an inclination conforming to the quantity of ink if the number of gradations changes, a record ratio of small dots is increased in accordance with the number of gradations at an area As where the quantity of ink is small. As the gradation value increases, middle dots are increased at an area An and large dots are increased at an area A1. The second image data is thus processed to halftones, whereby print data is generated. |
