PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of part items of a water pump driving mechanism in an engine having a transmitting mechanism by decelerating the rotation of a crankshaft and transmitting it to a camshaft between one end part of the crankshaft and the camshaft by directly connecting the pump shaft of a water pump to the other end of the crankshaft. SOLUTION: In a 6 cylinder horizontal opposed type engine in a motor-bicycle, a chain transmitting mechanism for decelerating the rotating power of a crankshaft to 1/2 and transmitting it to a camshaft is provided between one end part of the camshaft and one end part of the crankshaft 29 which are provided in each of lateral engine blocks. In this case, a water pump 94 is arranged on the other end side of the crankshaft 29 on the rear surface of a mission case 90. The pump shaft 95 of a water pump 94 is connected to the shaft end of the crankshaft 29 by the engagement of an engaging recessed part 29a with an engaging plate part 95. The water pump 94 is formed of the pump shaft 95 rotatably supported within a pump casing 96 and an impeller 99 fixed thereto.
