摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the generation of NOX by widening a spark gap than convential one, applying a high voltage in an ultra short pulse, enhancing ignition performance by combining an intake port strengthened in swirling and thereby increasing burning speed in a lean burn gas engine. SOLUTION: Intake air 300 enters into a combustion chamber 103 from a swirl/tumble strengthened type intake port 105 to be compressed after an intake valve is closed, a high voltage is applied to a spark plug 104 by a pulse power ignition system 109 when a piston 101 reaches its upper dead center to ignite, to burn gas and to exhaust from an exhaust port 107. Since the high voltage in an ultra short pulse shorter in boosting time than conventional one is applied by the pulse power ignition system 109, and the spark gap is widened than conventional one, arc discharge takes place after streamer discharge in a discharge mode, so that ignition performance can be excellent. Since the intake port 105 is so bent as to allow the mixed gas to swirl and tumble in the combustion chamber 103, the generation of NOX can be restrained by means of high ignition performance and combustion of high efficiency.
