QUARTER PILLAR STRUCTURE OF PIPING AIR CONDITIONING DUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the projection to the quarter window side of an air conditioning duct along the vehicular quarter pillar. SOLUTION: The quarter pillar 3 structure is formed out of a quarter pillar 3 with a closed section by an outer panel 31 and the pillar part of the rear end of a roof side inner panel 4 forming the car interior wall around a quarter window (w) and piped an air conditioning duct 2 extended from an air conditioner unit installed on the lower part of a car interior reaching a roof side in the gap between the quarter pillar 3 and a garnish 7 for covering this, the pillar part is constituted by the thicker extension member 5 than that separatingly from the roof side inner panel 4. The front edge of this extension member 5 is connected to the rear edge 42 of the roof side inner panel 4 and also the quarter pillar 3 is constituted by connecting the rear edge to the rear edge of the outer panel 31 and the extension member 5 is formed in the section shape whose car interior side is a recessed shape and the air conditioning duct 2 is piped along the extension member 5.
