PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top guide of a fishing rod; having enough strength and hardly broken, not only facilitating the installation of a top guide body of the guide in a receiving part, capable of allowing the guide body of the guide to be artificially detached from the receiving part but not allowing the guide body of the guide to be detached by the entanglement or the like of the fishline. SOLUTION: This top guide of a fishing rod has a cylindrical receiving part S1, S2, S3 fixed at a tip rod R1, and a cylindrical top guide body of a guide G1, G2, G3 fitted therein and having a fishline-guiding guide 5. An guiding groove 3, 13, 23 extending in the nearly axis direction of the rod is formed on either of the receiving part S1, S2, S3, or the guide body G1, G2, G3 of the guide, and an engaging part 4, 14, 24 parted therefrom in the circumference direction is also formed. A protruded part 6 is installed at the other part of the receiving part S1, S2, or S3, and the guide body G1, G2, G3 of the guide. The protruding part 6 is engaged to the engaging part 4, 14, 24 by inserting the protruded part 6 in the guiding groove 3, 13, 23, and rotating the guide body G1, G2, G3 of the guide against the receiving part S1, S2, S3 in the circumference direction to attach the guide body G1, G2, G3 of the guide to the receiving part S1, S2, S3.
