摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cemented carbide cutting tool, the hard coating layer of which exerts an excellent chipping resistance. SOLUTION: A hard coating layer, the component layers of which are composed of one kind or two or more kinds of Ti compound layers made up of TiC layer, TiN layer, TiCN layer, TiCO layer, TiNO layer, and TiCNO layer, and Al2O3 layer, is provided on the surface of a WC base cemented carbide substrate in an average layer thickness of 3 to 25μm, and further a TiCN layer containing dispersed free carbon at a rate of 3 to 30% of atoms of carbon, is provided in an average layer thickness of 0.2 to 3μm as a component layer of the hard coating layer of the surface coated cemented carbide cutting tool, which is obtained by chemical vapor deposition and/or physical vapor deposition.
