PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively wash a laundry without tangling and damaging of the laundry by washing the laundry by rotatably arranging a washing-cum- hydroextracting vessel in a water receiving vessel and rotating the vessel and changing a centrifugal force exerted to washing water. SOLUTION: When a motor 5 is driven and a washing-cum-hydroextracting vessel 2 is rotated, a centrifugal force acts on a laundry and washing water in the drying vessel 2, and the surface of the washing water becomes a cone shape. After a specified period of time the motor 5 is stopped, then the laundry and the washing water are returned to the original state, and thereafter the drying vessel 2 is rotated again. The washing is performed by repeating such an operation. At this time, a rotating force to draw outward acts on soil components adhered to the laundry if the specific gravity of the soil components is higher than that of water, and a force to draw inward acts on the laundry if the specific gravity thereof is lower than that of water. Thereby, pulling and separating forces repeatedly act on the soil components and the soil components are effectively removed from clothes, and washing efficiency can be improved.
