In an inductive control system a transmitting coil is energized by an associated alteiiiating current generator so that when it is in the proximity of either of two receiving coils, which are connected in series or in parallel, a signal, which may be modulated or pulsed, is induced therein and operates a relay. Either the transmitting equipment is mounted on mobile means and the receiving equipment is fixed, or vice versa. As described, a vehicle carries a generator operating on a selected fixed frequency in the range 8-25 kc/s. and has a transmitting coil mounted underneath. One receiving coil is placed on or under the ground outside the doors of a garage, and the other is similarly placed inside. A tuned receiver connected to the receiving coils operates a relay controlling a power supply to apparatus for actuating the doors. In this way, the doors may be made to open as the vehicle approaches the garage, and to close after it has entered. |
