A method is disclosed of installing an optical fibre unit in a duct comprising first (102) and second (103) lengths of duct. The method comprises arranging the optical fibre unit in first and second lengths in a receptacle, and locating the receptacle adjacent an access location, such as a manhole (104) between the first (102) and second (103) lengths of duct. A first end of the optical fibre unit is then blown into the first (102) length of duct from an end thereof adjacent the access location (104) in a first blowing step, and a second end of the optical fibre unit is blown into the second (103) length of duct from an end thereof adjacent the access location (104) in the second blowing step. At least part of the first and second blowing steps is carried out simultaneously. |
