PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the connected use of working benches and to closely join top plates by drawing joining elements attached to the bottoms of the opposed top plates of two working benches together by a connecting member and by closely joining the working benches together. SOLUTION: Joining elements 3, 4 installed in the bottoms of top plates 2 of working benches are formed of the top faces 31, 41 and side faces 32, 42 into an approximately hook shape and connecting holes are appropriately formed in the side faces 32, 42. One joining element 3 is fixed to a leg 12 with a clearance 33 enough for inserting the top face 41 of the other joining element 4 therein formed between the top face 31 and the top plate 2. In connecting the adjoining benches together, the top face 41 of the joining element 4 is inserted in the clearance 33 between the top face 31 of the joining element 3 and the top plate 2. Secondly, bolts 101 are inserted in mated connecting holes provided in the joining element 3 and the joining element 4 respectively and fastened by nuts 111, and a connecting member 11 constituted of the bolts 101 and the nuts 111 is fastened so that the working benches are mutually drawn together and the top plates 2, 2 are closely joined together.
