The jig (15) has a template with an aperture for the milling cutter located at a defined axial dimension to the face of the door leaf and clearance to the door lower edge and/or to other milled holes. Clamps (27) secure the jig to door edge or the frame limb. The position of the milling templates (21) are adjustable on a carrier (16,17) for varying the axial- and/or the clearance dimensions. Two parallel carriers adjustable in position relative to one another can be provided and two pars of clamping jaws the positions of which can be adjusted relative to the template.
