METHOD FOR CHECKING LABEL SWITCHED PATH CONNECTION IN ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE MULTI PROTOCOL LABEL SWITCHING NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method for checking LSP(Label Switched Path) connection of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is provided to perform a path inspection by using a management message for the path inspection. CONSTITUTION: A method for checking LSP(Label Switched Path) connection of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) comprises the steps of: suspending the answering message reception of a path inspection, after delivering to a MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) layer by generating the path inspection message in an LDP(Label Distribution Protocol) layer of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)-LSR(Label Switching Router), when completing the ATM set connection; transmitting to an L5(ATM Adaptation Layer5) by attaching a MPLS header to the path inspection message; transmitting to the exit side of the ATM-LSR through the ATM-LSP for performing the path inspection, by attaching an L5 trailer to the path inspection message from the a L5 layer, and making to a cell type of the ATM; delivering the path inspection message to the MPLS layer, after removing the a L5 trailer from the ATM cell delivered through the ATM layer of the exit side of the ATM-LSR; transmitting the path inspection message to the LDP layer, after removing the MPLS header from the MPLS layer; generating the path inspection answering message about the path inspection message from the LDP layer, and transmitting to the special side of the ATM-LSR through a path for transmitting/receiving the LDP message.
