PURPOSE: A seeking method of an optical disk system is provided to reduce a seeking time by seeking an optimized value corresponding to a mechanism of a system. CONSTITUTION: A seeking method of an optical disk system comprises the steps of: calculating an optical pick-up transfer distance up to a target location when a searching key is inputted(204,206); stopping to drive an optical pick-up transfer motor when the calculated distance is shorter than a predetermined reference value; driving a fine actuator so as to be searched up to the target location; referring, if the calculated distance is longer than the reference value, a table value stored in a memory to drive the motor by a driving time corresponding to the referred value(212); confirming a present location at a stop of the motor to calculate a differential between the present location and the target location(216); correcting, if the calculated differential is less than the reference value, a table value by the calculated differential to drive the motor by the differential after storing the corrected table value(218,220).
