PURPOSE: A butterfly valve is provided to improve the sealing property of a valve shaft by cutting the leakage of a fluid through a hollow hole of a valve body by sticking the valve shaft with a penetrating slot in the high pressure of the fluid. CONSTITUTION: When a valve shaft(20) is rotated at 90degree by an operating unit, a fixed pin of roller(60) is rotated. A ring for operating a maintenance of sealing(50) is moved in a hollowed hole(12) as the height difference of a cam face(52) by moving the pin of roller(60) from a contacting unit of low face(52a) to a contacting unit of high face(52b) according to a taper unit of the cam face(52). Thereby a fluid flowing into the hollow hole(12) is cut by sealing a penetrating slot(41) with compressing around the penetrating slot(41) of a ring of rubber sheet(40). When a valve disc(30) is opened a fluid passage(11) of a valve body(10) by rotating the valve shaft(20), the leakage of fluid through the penetrating slot(41) is not occurred by becoming the state flowing the fluid through the fluid passage(11).
