SKIN PREPARATION CONTAINING EXTRACT OF BAMBOOSAE CALULIS IN TAENIAM FOR EXTERNAL USE

PURPOSE: A skin preparation containing the extract of the green rind of a bamboo for external use is provided, which is effective to the treatment of a pimple and stable to the long-term administration. CONSTITUTION: The skin preparation comprises 0.001-5 wt%, preferably 0.01-1 wt% of the extract of the green rind of a bamboo based on the total weight. The extract of the green rind of a bamboo is prepared by pulverizing the green rind of a bamboo; and extracting it with a polar solvent such as methanol, ethanol and acetone. The extract suppresses the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, thereby treats a pimple. The skin preparation can be formulated in the form of creams, lotions, skin lotions, packs, foundations, soaps and cleansing foams.
