METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to improve a contrast by stably performing sustain discharge by a sustain pulse. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels are discharged during light period. An address of a selected pixel among a plurality of discharged pixels is set and discharged during an address period. A pixel which is not discharged among a plurality of discharged pixels is removed during address period. A pixel which is discharged among a plurality of discharged pixels is maintained during sustain period. The discharge forms a wall charge for generating a self-removing discharge. A wall voltage of the selected pixel is equivalent to a voltage capable of sustain during the address period. The discharge of the address period occurs by a pulse having a 1 micro second.
