PURPOSE: A device for displaying a debugging message is provided to display the current state of a system on an LCD window as characters or numerals when a program related to a PC is developed. CONSTITUTION: A decoder(21) decodes an address signal which is inputted through a system ISA address bus(S-ADDR) and outputs a latch signal to a latch unit(22) when a write signal is inputted as an active state. The latch unit(22) latches data loaded in a system ISA data bus(S-DATA) when a latch interrupt signal(LATCH-INT) is inputted from the decoder(21). A microprocessor(23B) decodes a specific address in the decoder(21). When a latch interrupt signal is inputted, the micro processor(23B) searches the corresponding code from a flash ROM(23C) and displays the contents on an LCD unit(23A) after a value latched in the latch unit(22) is read, and reads table data from the exterior and writes the data in the flash ROM(23C). A flash logic unit(23D) supplies an electric power for writing or reading the table data to the flash ROM(23C). An interface unit(RS232C driver)(23E) and a serial port(23F) perform a serial communication with the microprocessor(23B) and a PC. A switch(SW1) for selecting a watching of previous message is provided. A switch(SW2) for selecting a watching of the current message is provided.
