PURPOSE: A method for initializing a hard disk drive through self tuning method is provided to perform a stable initialization process by compensating an IC off-set component on a PCB capable of being generated circuitously or mechanically in each hard disk drive. CONSTITUTION: A micro controller performs an initializing process as a variable initialization of a hard disk drive(40) etc. The micro controller performs an unlatching process by outputting a control outputting value through a D/A converter for moving a head(12) being positioned at a parking area to a data area(42). The first torque constant is measured(44). The initially set torque constant is compensated by inducing the first torque constant. A BIOS is measured by an IC off-set value on a PCB, a BIOS value calculated in the unlatching process and a torque constant value obtained in measuring the first torque constant(46). The micro controller measures the second torque constant(48). The final torque constant value is decided by using the torque constant value obtained until measuring the BIOS or the BIOS value.
