PURPOSE: A steering column device is provided to automatically drop down a steering column and to push a steering wheel downward by an engine impact, so a driver is released from an impact with a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: A steering column device contains the following characteristics: symmetry slot groove(10) is formed on a fixed slot(5), and 4-articulated link(20) is connected with a universal joint(7) and an upper tube(2) in order to drop down a steering column by taking down the upper tube fixed to the steering wheel by an engine impact when in a head-on collision.
