PURPOSE: A device for displaying a function board population state in the exchange detects a wrong population state when inserting a function board into a corresponding backbone socket, and displays the wrong population state to an exchange operator. CONSTITUTION: A device for displaying a function board population state includes a population confirmation signal generator(210), a population checker(220), and a population display device(230). The population confirmation signal generator(210) controls the function board(110), and outputs a signal having a predetermined logical value to all output terminals. Among many contact pints of a corresponding backbone socket(120) populating the function board therein, the population confirmation checker(220) outputs a different signal in case that all output signals of all contact pins corresponding to the output terminals of the function board(110) are identical to each other and are not identical to each other. A normal population display device(230) turns on a predetermined LED according to an output signal of the population confirmation part(220). Thereby, the device detects a wrong population state when inserting a function board into a corresponding backbone socket, and displays the wrong population state to an exchange operator.
