PURPOSE: A sorting device is provided to enable downsizing and to easily remove and mount a cabinet around a paper discharge hole of a printing machine, designed for retaining paper sheets with installing a dividing plate rotating inside the cabinet. CONSTITUTION: A cabinet(21) contains an opening portion(216) formed on a location opposed to a paper discharge hole and plural dividing plates(211¯215) are hinge-combined to inside of the cabinet, mutually isolated so an inner space of cabinet as to be divided into paper retaining portions(21a¯21f). A protruding portion protrudes in a stair-form outward of cabinet through an opening hole, extending from a free end of each dividing plate. Herein, a transfer member(23) applied for reciprocatingly sliding in a lengthy direction of the paper discharge hole and a lifting member(231) combined rotatably with the transfer member and with a dividing plate thereof corresponding to the protruding portion to be placed at upper side than paper proceeding path are equipped with the device. And a transfer implement(23) for slide-transferring the transfer member and a rotating implement for rotating the lifting member are included as well. Thus paper inserted through the opening hole is selectively retained in one of paper retaining portions for sorting paper.
