PURPOSE: A device for preventing a theft of an outdoor device for an air conditioner is provided to prevent the theft of the outdoor device by corresponding to the theft of the outdoor device by displaying a warning passage in a displaying unit of an indoor device at disconnecting a communication line, and by generating an alarming sound. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner separated an indoor unit(10) and an outdoor unit(20), and connected a communication line(30) to transmit and to receive the data between the indoor device and the outdoor device comprises: a microcomputer(1) of indoor unit to output a control signal for preventing the theft of the outdoor device by detecting the disconnection of the communication line; a displaying unit(13) to display a warning passage to inform the theft of outdoor unit according to the control signal of the microcomputer; and an alarming sound generating unit(15) for generating the alarming sound.
