PURPOSE: A host interface device is provided to enable a high speed mass data transmission in receiving and transmitting data effectively by accessing a host memory directly through an IDMA channel. CONSTITUTION: A reception/transmission part(510) provides data received from adiplexer(500) to a medium access control part(530) and data transmitted from a medium access control part(530) to the diplexer(500). A CPU(560) controls reception and transmission states of a PCI bridge(580) by control information applied to a host and controls input/output of reception and transmission data stored in a RAM(570). The PCI bridge(580) is interfaced with the host by a PCI bus, outputs the reception data stored in the RAM(570) by a control of the CPU(560), and stores the transmission data from the host in the RAM(570).
