PURPOSE: A ring oscillator is provided which asynchronously applies signals to the input ports of NMOS and PMOS transistors constructing a unit inverter stage through negative delay to compensate for the operation speed of a MOS transistor having a slow operation speed to generate a fast frequency. CONSTITUTION: A ring oscillator is constructed in a manner that a plurality of unit inverter stages(40-1,40-2,40-3,40-4,40-5) are serially connected. Each of the plurality of inverter stages includes a negative delay for negative-delaying a clock signal applied to an input terminal, a PMOS transistor which is connected between a power supply and ground and whose gate receives the delayed clock signal output from the negative delay, and an NMOS transistor whose gate receives the clock signal.
