PURPOSE: An intake and exhaust testing apparatus is provided to perform a test even without direct installation of a testing apparatus in a vehicle, to extend a selection range of materials for a testing apparatus, to be installed easily and to reduce time, cost and labor for a test by measuring data in a short time. CONSTITUTION: An intake and exhaust testing apparatus comprises: an operating unit(10) generating an exhaust gas flow, controlling temperature and generating noise; a test sample(20) installed behind the operating unit to restrain real noise; and a measuring unit(30) measuring noises before and after passing through the test sample and informing of data values. Upon generation of an air flow by a blower(11), noise generated by rotation of the blower fan is sucked in a silence(13). Then, a heater(14) controls temperature of the air in an exhaust pipe(12). A horn unit(31) generates noise, and the noise passes through the test sample. Microphones(33,34,35) measure noise values in exhaust pipes installed in front of and behind the test sample. The microphones transfer the noise values to a frequency analyzer(32) to indicate noise values before and after passing through the test sample via a computer(36) connected with the frequency analyzer. Thereafter, the test sample is applied to a real vehicle.
