PURPOSE: A method for controlling an alarm mode selection of a personal portable terminal equipment provided to select one of a bell mode and a vibration mode after a user selects an alarm mode. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an alarm mode selection of a personal portable terminal equipment comprises the steps of: performing a control to select an alarm interval according to a user's selection for an alarm mode; and performing a control to select one of a bell mode and a vibration mode. The method further comprises the steps of: displaying a message to set the alarm according to the user's selection for the alarm mode; performing(120) a control to select alarm interval according to the user's request; displaying(125) a message to select any mode of the bell mode and the vibration mode; and changing(140) the current mode according to the user's request for changing the mode.
