PURPOSE: A semi-active mount controlling method is provided to effectively control a semi-active mount or a damper used for absorbing vibration of machinery system of a mechanical structure. CONSTITUTION: A semi-active mount controlling method comprises the steps of: determining the position and the quantity of a semi-active mount on the base; setting up a movement function controlling a multi degree-of-freedom system on the basis of weight matrix, an attenuation matrix and a strong matrix when vibration is produced on the base; decoupling a system by setting up a sufficient and necessary condition to offer proportional attenuation property to the system and making the system a regular mode system; applying a certain control formula to the decoupled each mode; and determining the attenuation value of the semi-active mount installed by corresponding to the applied control formula. Herein, the vibration of the system is controlled effectively by using only one semi-active mount.
