PURPOSE: A recording method of a CD-R(Compact Disc Recordable) is provided to keep pit length regular without regard to heat storage by changing the laser emitting time depending on the pit length and to form the same pit depending on the variable length of a former blank. CONSTITUTION: A laser beam is emitted to a position desired to have a pit. A pit starts to be formed in a specific critical point after the surface of an optical disk is heated by the laser beam. The pit is formed rapidly by emission of a large amount of laser beam. The former blank length influences the position and forming time of the pit. If the former blank is long, a larger and longer wart is used to heat the optical disk within a short time. On the contrary, if the former blank is shorter, a relatively small and short wart is used. The emitting time of laser beam is changed depending on the pit length for heat storage is in proportion to the pit length. Therefore, the same pit is formed by forming the long or short wart depending on the length of the former blank.
