PURPOSE: A surge voltage control device is provided to prevent a damage of a circuit element and a breakdown of a motor, the damage of the circuit element and the breakdown of motor being generated by an influence of a surge voltage when an output voltage of inverter is applied to an input part of the motor. CONSTITUTION: A surge voltage control device includes rectifiers(110,112), and a protector(102). The rectifiers(110,112) rectifies an AC power being input to a motor, and provides a predetermined voltage generated between phases. The protector(102) removes a predetermined surge voltage involved to an output voltage of the rectifier by using a charge/discharge operation. Thereby. a generation width of the surge voltage is reduced, and a motor and a circuit element needed to drive the motor can be protected.
