PURPOSE: An one side valve suspension device of a four-valve type engine is provided to improve the output and fuel ratio of an engine, and reduce exhaust gas by opening two suction valves in high-speed operation of an engine while not operating one valve in low-speed and middle-speed operation. CONSTITUTION: An one side valve suspension device of a four-valve type engine includes a hydraulic chamber(6) installed at an end part of a locker arm(3) contacting with a cam(4), an operation rod(5) having one end received in the hydraulic chamber and the other end contacting with the cam, and allowed to move following the hydraulic chamber when oil pressure applied to the hydraulic chamber is lost, a return spring(9) pressing the operation rod to be closely attached to the surface of the cam with elasticity lower than elasticity of a valve spring(10), an oil return line contacted with an oil path(12) to return oil to the lower pressure side, the oil path communicated with the hydraulic chamber from an oil gallery through a locker arm shaft, a solenoid valve switched at a contact point of the oil return line and the oil path to selectively open and shut the oil gallery and the oil return line, and an ECU controlling the solenoid valve to interrupt the oil return line and communicate the oil path with the oil gallery in high-speed operation of the engine, and controlling the solenoid valve to communicate the oil path with the oil return line and interrupt the oil gallery in low-speed and middle-speed operation of the engine.
