PURPOSE: A method for controlling a transmission of an image data of an image communication device capable of transmitting an image at high speed by applying different quantization table values and different sampling rates according to characteristics of an image is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a method for controlling a transmission of an image data of an image communication device wherein the method converts a moving image into an electric signal, performs a digital process, and compresses the image, a complexity of an image to be transmitted is compared with a reference value. A quantization table value and/or sampling rate of an image is selectively applied so that a quantization and/or sampling are performed. An image is compressed by the selected quantization and/or sampling rate.
