PURPOSE: A system for measuring a slab size is provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by measuring automatically a slave size. CONSTITUTION: A system for measuring a slab size comprises four line scan cameras(21,24,31,40), four image processors(51,52,53,54), five lightings(22,23,32,33,41), a relay unit(56), a digital input and output unit(64), three laser sensors(21,25,30), and many fixing blocks(4,6,8,10). The line scam camera searches a starting point and an ending point of a length, a width, and a thickness of a slave. The image processor combines image signals from the line scan camera. The relay unit and the digital input and output unit performs an interface to a central processing computer of the system. The laser sensor traces the starting point and ending point. The fixing block moves the camera, the laser sensor, and the lighting.
