摘要 PURPOSE: An optical isolator for minimizing polarization mode dispersion is provided to arrange optical elements as a linear structure for a central axis without using additional compensating plate. CONSTITUTION: An optical isolator for minimizing polarization mode dispersion comprises a double refraction wedge(21), a faraday rotator(23), and a second double refraction wedge(25). The first double refraction wedge comprises a first optical axis, receives an optical signal, divides the received optical signal into a normal polarization and an ideal polarization, and radiates the normal polarization and the ideal polarization. The faraday rotator rotates the received normal polarization and the ideal polarization as much as 45 degrees and radiates the rotated normal polarization and the ideal polarization. The second double refraction wedge comprises a second optical axis, receives the radiated polarization, divides the received polarization into a normal polarization and an ideal polarization, and radiates the normal polarization and the ideal polarization.
