PURPOSE: A method for providing data service in a multi-functional radio terminal is provided to prepare a PDA(Personal Data Assistant) for receiving data and to make a wireless telephone part transfer the received data to the PDA, by informing the PDA that the wireless telephone part receives data service. CONSTITUTION: The second CPU of a wireless telephone part checks whether a paging message is received from a radio interval(311). If the paging message is received, the second CPU analyzes it and checks whether a service type provided from a base station is a data service(313). If the service type is a data service, the second CPU gets ready to receive the data corresponding to the associated data service and generates an HDLC format(315). The second CPU transmits the generated HDLC format to a PDA through a UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) to notify the PDA that data service has been started(319). If the data are received(321), the second CPU checks whether the data service is ongoing(323). If the data service is ongoing, the second CPU making the received data in the form of frames in accordance with the HDLC format and transmits them to the PDA through the UART(325).
