PURPOSE: A cable tester is provided which checks if cables operating a device short-circuit or not at a time to allow the test operation to be carried out rapidly and easily, improving operation efficiency. CONSTITUTION: In construction of a tester(1) for checking if a cable(2) connecting a machine control panel with a machine main body short-circuits, a connector contact(11) and a terminal(12) to which the cable and a terminal are respectively connected are set at the tester. A switch(13) and a display(14) which regulates and displays power are connected with the connector and the terminal so that it is checked if the cable operating a device short-circuits or not at a time to allow the test operation to be carried out rapidly and easily.
