METHOD FOR CONTROLLING FOCUS BIAS IN OPTICAL DISC PLAYER

PURPOSE: An adjusting method for focus bias in an optical disk player is provided to automatically adjust deviation in jitter amounts according to adjustment of focus bias. CONSTITUTION: Jitter amount is detected in a focus bias state(S40). The focus bias is re-established for a maximum focus bias for detecting a jitter amount(S50). A jitter amount difference between the detected jitter amounts is calculated(S70). The focus bias is adjusted for corresponding to the detected jitter amount difference for detected adjusted jitter amount(S80). The adjusted jitter amount is compared with the detected jitter amount in the focus bias state(S80). In case of the jitter amount in the focus bias state over the adjusted jitter amount, the focus bias is established by using the present focus bias value(S120).
