PURPOSE: A hood open-and-shut device is provided to open a hood conveniently and to prevent a hand of an operator from being contaminated. CONSTITUTION: An insertion groove(13) is formed in a front part of an engine room(11), and a striker(14) is installed in the insertion groove. Protrusions(15a,15b) are formed by bending upper and lower parts of the striker inward, and a return spring(16) is combined with the lower protrusion of the striker to strain the striker. A bracket(20) is installed in a front part of a hood(12) to lock and release repeatedly with sliding the upper protrusion of the striker. The bracket has a guide slot(22) in a front part of a plate(21). A protrusion section(23) is formed in the middle of the guide slot, and a heart-shaped protrusion(24) is formed in the lower part of the guide slot. A groove(25) facing the protrusion section of the guide slot is formed on the upper part of the protrusion. The hood is locked or released with the upper protrusion of the striker moving along the guide slot.
