Both a light source (20) and sample plate (18), e.g. a micro-titration plate, are fixed. The measurement head (10) is mounted on a mobile, U-shaped support, with opposite arms embracing the plate. A drive mechanism brings the first colorimetric analysis detector (12) opposite a predetermined analysis cell. One end of the optical fiber is exposed to the fixed light source, the other is mounted (30) in the mobile support (19). Preferred Features: The mounting (30) contains an optical collimator (32) delivering a parallel light beam, and a reference photoelectric detector (36) connected to an electronic circuit (46), compensating variations of luminous flux during deformation of the optical fiber. The mobile support has a second mounting (39) opposite the first, containing a focusing system (38) connected optically to the photodetector system (37). The optical focusing system transmits to a diffraction grating (42) for static selection of wavelength. An optical fiber connects the focusing system to the diffraction grating. The measuring head has a second photometric analysis detector on the mobile support, for opacity measurement. It includes a diode (52) emitting monochromatic light, working with a photodiode receiver (54) on the opposite side of the mobile support. The lower face of the plate is contained in a sealed enclosure, held at a thermostatically-predetermined temperature. The enclosure has a flexible wall (58), permitting movement of the mobile support under the plate.
