The high temperature joint for a space vehicle has a metal substrate (1). A first coating is of a high elastic strength metal with a thickness of about fifteen microns and a second coating is of metal with a thickness of between two and six microns and low hardness but an ability to flow to accommodate surface roughness on the joint sealing face.
