PURPOSE: A method for setting up a local oscillation frequency of an LNB(Low Noise Block) in a satellite broadcasting receiver is provided to solve a compatibility problem, and to equip the satellite broadcasting receiver easily by setting up the local oscillation frequency. CONSTITUTION: A central frequency between two PLL(Phase Lock Loop) frequencies is set up at a PLL of a tuner again(S62). And, a carrier lock and a centering are performed at a tuner part(S63). After this, a repeater number is extracted from an SDT(Service Description Table) information of a satellite broadcasting protocol by demultiplexing a transport stream(S64). Next, an NLB(Low Noise Block) local oscillation frequency is found by using a fact that the NLB local oscillation frequency is a difference of a satellite down link frequency and an L0-479.5MHz(S65). At this time, the NLB local oscillation frequency is pertinent to the repeater number.
