PURPOSE: A method for driving field emission display device is provided to improve the quality of picture by preventing an error operation on a screen by providing a discharge pulse for preventing a discharge delay of a scan pulse. CONSTITUTION: In sequence, a row driving unit(16) provides both a scan pulse for successively enabling first to mth row electrode lines(R1-Rm) and a row line driving pulse having a discharge pulse for quickly returning the scan pulse to a reference level in a falling time of the scan pulse. A column driving unit(14) successively provides a picture data to first to nth column electrode lines(C1-Cn) while first to mth row electrode lines(R1-Rm) are enabled. The first row electrode line(R1) is enabled when the scan pulse is provided to the first row electrode line(R1). A picture data is successively provided to first to nth column electrode lines(C1-Cn) while the first row electrode line(R1) is enabled and electrons corresponding to the picture data in a pixel(18) connected to the first row electrode line(R1) are emitted.
