PURPOSE: An amount judging comparator is provided to improve a comparison speed by judging great and small sizes selecting only one block which affects an amount judgment after comparing inputted two numbers by a four-bit block unit, and to have a simple configuration. CONSTITUTION: In an amount judging comparator, a plurality of first comparison parts (10a-10d) divide inputted two numbers(A,B) into four-bit blocks to compare the numbers of the blocks thus divided. A select logic part(20) receives an equal signal of signals outputted from the first comparison parts to output the equal signal to pass logic parts. The pass logic parts(30a-30d) are enabled by a select enable signal of the select logic part, and outputs an output signals of the first comparison parts and the input signal(A). A second comparison part(40) receives the signal(A) and the outputs of the first comparison parts via the enabled pass logic part.
