The start-up circuit has a comparator circuit (13) electrically connected to the electrically controlled device or motor (11) that receives a feedback signal (FG) from the device and compares it with a reference signal to produce a control signal (S5). A control stage (12) connected to the comparator and switch controls the switch according to the control signal so that it is started in stepped manner without receiving a step load current. An Independent claim is also included for a method of step-wise starting an electrically controlled D.C. motor.
